Butt Cheeto

We all have a song where the lyrics we hear are clearly not the lyrics that are actually being sung. So it goes for Mason and one of his kid tunes. The song, a jazzy sound, starts off with: Do do do-do-do, duh de doe... What Mason sings: Do do do-do-do butt Cheeto... Cracks us all up. Every. Single. Time. And in the words of Mason: I bet butt Cheetos are brown. Just some food for thought. Pun intended.

Summer Fun

We beat the heat at the local splash park on Friday. The boys (and Camryn, too) had a blast. Water fights, splashing, and laughing. Lots of laughing.

And nothing spells fun like unintentional enemas. Good grief!

The third child.

 IMG_1597

Life is busy, and benchmarks get forgotten. So I don’t forget…

My sweet baby girl is 15 months old (I thought she was 16 months old, but stand corrected after I recounted. Had this been my first child I would be able to tell you how old she is in weeks without giving it a thought…) Her walking has turned from a prehistoric walk (think tyrannosaurus rex), to more of an awkward gallop. She has places to go and needs to get there—or away from her brothers—quickly. She loves blueberries, watermelon, and other people’s drinks. She screams louder than anything I have ever been around, laughs herself into hiccups when she is tickled, and dances to any song she hears. He words are: Momma (when she is crying), zat (as in what’s that?), uh-oh, up, thank you, ooooowwwwwwiiiiiiieeeeee (whenever she is displeased by anything), woof woof, and hi. She loves to wear necklaces and sunglasses (reference picture), hates to have her diaper changed, and sucks on her glow worm’s ear like nobody’s business (everything about that ear is disgusting). She follows simple commands: Go get your shoes. Put your diaper in the garbage. Sit down, please. She loves chasing after the dog, feeding the dog, and patting the dog. She stashes her sippy cups in random places, plays pretend, and loves a good game of peek-a-boo. She had 5 teeth, and then got fussy for a few days and now has six teeth. She may have more than that, but again, third child syndrome… Bath time used to be fun, then she decided it sucked for a while, and now it is fun again. Favorite bath time activity: Pouring buckets of water on her face. Who knew?! Her hair is growing in to quite the mullet, her eyes have become the most intriguing blue-green-brown color, and her skin loves the summer sun. And we all love our little Camarooney!

A real stickler for details.

Jacob likes everything to be just so. It would irritate the crap out of me if I weren’t the exact same way. And now his OCD has followed him to bedtime where he lines up his toys in a perfect row along with himself. A perfectionist in the making. Poor kid!

Right there with ya, sister!

Boys are loud. Especially the ones living in our house. So it makes perfect sense that Camryn has this move down pat. The ear plug is one of her best tricks. Just a girl doing what everyone else would like to do in the presence of all this noise!

Today I love...

That the boys snuck out of their beds post tuck in to create an elaborate fort on the bottom bunk (Mason's bed) where they quietly played until falling asleep. Proof that these two monsters can and do get along and love each other very, very much. Heart melter, for sure.

Today I love...

... that Mason calls these "toot-cereals." If they served up these candies for breakfast we would all be in trouble!

Sunday Funday

Caleb and I won a fire truck ride for the boys at a charity auction earlier this year. And by won I mean we spent way too much money on a quick ride around town. But the boys had a blast so it was well worth the donation!

[The boys were allowed to touch lots of buttons and pull lots of levers. And since these boys love to touch things that they shouldn’t be touching, this might have just made their day!]

Camryn and I went to the park while the three boys went for an actual ride around town. Jacob and Mason agreed that their favorite part was listening to the sirens and horns. And in the words of Mason: I got to ride on a parade fire truck!

This is how we roll.

Not the first time we have driven the Sienna to zilch. And, clearly, 0 miles to empty is just a suggestion.

Busy Saturday

We kicked off our weekend with the boys’ gymnastics exhibition where they got to showcase their “skills.”  Basically, Mason goofed off, and Jacob very seriously went through the rotations. Those kids couldn’t be more different!

[Ribbon time. Way to complete your gymnastics class, boys!]

Then it was on to a very warm tee-ball game…

[This is Sabrina. Sabrina is the reason why Jacob says baseball is his favorite sport. Picture taken during game. Not between innings, because you can’t let a game of baseball get in the way of your “game”!]
