Ugh!

I feel as if the days are flying by right now. Soccer ended. Gymnastics started. Halloween is creeping up fast. Our first Toys R Us Christmas catalog arrived in the mail this week. We have been discussing holiday cards, Thanksgiving menus, new cars, and whether or not to mow our yard one last time. A lot of nothing has consumed our family. This is what I'm talking about:
The boys and their besties. Just making sure that their costumes fit.
Camryn America. Up to no good.
Having fun with mustaches. Thankfully, that one will peel off...
This girl loves to dress herself. She hates to match, however. And, clearly, has seasonal confusion.
Jacob's class took a field trip to the rock quarry. That's one heck-uv-alot of first graders in one scoop!
Caleb got himself rearended yesterday, which will quite possibly total out this 2000 beauty. Perhaps we will move on to bigger and better things--like a four-door sedan?!

Jealous of our busy, yes?

Soccer ended.

And Jacob's team finished off the season undefeated! He was--I would say--the most improved player on the team, and for sure the best goalie on the team. (nerve racking!)
Fun times!

Treats!

After being Boo'd Thursday night, my neighbor and I decided that kids shouldn't be the only ones who get to have fun so we started this around our hood last night: You got Boozed!!!!
We filled buckets with beer, wine, cheese, crackers, pretzels and solo cups. Then we drove around the neighborhood, obnoxiously rang doorbells, shoved said buckets at our friends, ran away screaming, and tried as hard as we could to make the ol' minivan peel out as we sped away to a blinding 25 mph residential. All the while Camryn, our unwilling participant, sat in her carseat watching a movie. It was an absolute hoot, and we are still laughing about how we channeled our inner 16-year-old selves to pull this off. Hoping our neighbors have just as much fun as we did!

We got Boo'd!!!!

This basket of goodies landed itself on our doorstep last night, and we can't wait to "boo" some of our unsuspecting neighbors tonight!
Can't stop laughing over this picture. These staches were in our boo box. Looking a little like Mario and Luigi, and just a tad early for Movember...

A quick break.

Who would ever turn down an impromptu nap with a princess? Not this momma!

The Little Girl's Room of My Dreams

Camryn's room is complete. And I'm happy to report that she seems to love it as much as I do. Her nightstand has spent the past three generations in my family (I hid my hair in the top drawer after I lopped it off in kindergarten with my not-so-sharp round tipped scissors. The day before class pictures. True story.) Her bedding is covered in abstract little hearts, but, sadly, Camryn calls them "Peppa's [Pig] mittens." One day I hope she will appreciate art a little less literally! She loves her gold picture frames, and has been spotted happily playing on her floor with no one around to bother her.
My favorite little big girl room ever!

Sunday Afternoon

Immediately following our movie outing, we hauled it back to our house, shoved food into the kids, and headed to the second attraction of the day: the pumpkin patch!

And though it was a little breezy, we could absolutely not have asked for a better day: perfectly sunny and a warm 80 degrees in mid-October? For sure!

[This is our fifth consecutive year to this patch. And the kids LOVE it! We have taken their picture by this sign each year, and they are all finally tall enough to reach the openings without help—although Mason looks like he is being hung by the ghost’s head…]

[Camryn loved playing in the corn silo. I think her and I buried ourselves several different times over the span of nearly an hour. My nose is still recovering from all the corn dust that I breathed in!]

[There are more bounce houses and play grounds than you will ever have time to explore at this place. Though we really did try hard to hit ‘em all!]

[The boys had a blast jumping on this huge inflatable pillow. Camryn, not so much. She spent most of her time sliding down the side saying “I no like this!”

[Jacob “rocked” this wall. He made it to the top and even played it cool enough to stop for some photos on the way. He needs to work on his repelling skills as he learned the hard way what it feels like to face plant on the side of the wall…]

Our Sunday Morning

I kicked off our Sunday with a trip to the movies with the boys for a mother-son event sponsored by our school. We saw Hotel Transylvania 2 with a theater filled with about 200 friends! It was so much fun, and it's amazing just how quiet popcorn and juice boxes will keep children!

I Spy...

...autumn. It landed on our porch.
...the neighborhood bike gang. They invaded our house.
...possum foot prints all over the back window of Caleb's car. It slept in our garage the other night. Yikes!

One year later...

This may have to become an annual thing!

Mason's School Work

This is the dandy of an assignment that Mason toted home today.
Box 1: When asked how in the world he could taste his initials, he said "because they are made out of pancakes." Fo sho, bro.

Box 2: Thankfully that brown heap of doo is nothing more than a chocolate fudge sundae. Phew!

And a side note: for the longest time it was our understanding--from Mason--that there were two Mason's in our dude's class. And then we come to find out that, in reality, Mason was the only Mason. Sometimes he goes by the traditional Mason S. and sometimes he prefers his alter ego Mason T., as in Mason Thomas, as in his middle name. And, today, it appears by his signature line that he is MTS. Imaginative or just downright crazy?!

How much for that doggy in the window?

Camryn's first encounter with makeup this past Friday at the fall fest. She wasn't shy to tell anyone "I'm a doggy. Arf. Arf." And it took a solid 10 minutes for her tongue to lick off her puppy tongue. Ick!

Autumn Ready

Because when your furnace decides it doesn't want to turn on, you gotta do something to cut the chill. Even if it is almost 60 outside!

Fail.

Jacob's homework assignment. Easier said than done.
After 45 min of trying, erasing, and rewriting, I realize I have no idea how to solve this damn table. I am not smarter than a first grader. I was really hoping it would take more than six weeks into first grade for homework problems to kick my boo-tay!
