Mason’s a Teenager!

Mason turned 13 on a perfectly hot and sunny day, so to celebrate he floated down the river with a handful of adventurous friends!

{Blown up and ready to roll! Jacob and his pals traveled down the river a little after Mason’s group launched, and our group of adults pushed off about an hour behind the first group so that we could be a search and rescue for anything gone wrong. Happily nothing went wrong!}

{The birthday group!}

{The rope swing is arguably the best part of the several-hours long trip. The birthday crew was just finishing up their jumps when we arrived.}

Grandma and Papa were in town for the weekend, but declined sticking around for the chaos of the float. I can’t blame them!

First Day of School

We currently have three kids in three schools with three schedules. Let’s go!

Jacob was the first one out the door. His high school bus comes at 6:23… when the sun is just popping up. Yikes!

{On the home stretch with this shirt, and it almost fits. Kind of!}

{This is how I followed Jacob to school. A small kid in a very big school with about 2,500 other people.}

Mason and I were next in line. I’m out the door at 7:20, and Mason bikes after me at 7:40.

{I’m a PE teacher for the first half of the year. Hope I can keep up!}

{This 8th grader is the big man on campus!}

My mom comes over to take Cam to school every morning. I heard they are engaged in a semester long Sorry tournament.

{A downpour kept Camryn inside for first day pictures.}

{This fifth grader is queen of the castle. I can’t believe we have had our final last first day of elementary school!}

July Bits

 The pieces of our July puzzle.

{Mason went to Cooperstown. The other two spent some time in Iowa and took a field trip to see puppies.}

{The kids and I repainted our deck a lovely gray. Child labor at work!}

{So many white shoes. And not really all that white anymore.}

{The cousins came to visit, and rain made us pivot plans. Roller skating rink for the win!}

{My mom took Mason and his +1 to Osh Kosh, Wisconsin for an overnight visit to the air show. She is the best! And the boys thought the air show was the best!}
