Tell me you’re old without telling me you’re old.

A post about my yard.

As I gear up for hibernation through what always seems like the longest winter ever, I thought I would remind myself what happens on the other side of winter!

I love my yard, my flowers, and my humungous shade trees. And then fall happens…

Cheer Showcase

Caleb and I had our first taste of cheer life this past weekend as we traveled to South Bend, Indiana, where Camryn showed off her new 3-minute routine. She did a great job, and I was quite impressed with the number!

We can’t post videos of their routine because that’s first rule of cheer club. But I can post pictures of my obnoxiously beautiful cheer girl, fake hair and all!

{On the way before her face and hair were attached. She makes the whole place shimmer!}

{I successfully zip tied in her pony tail and got most of her lipstick on her lips. Cheer ready!}

{Looking the part!}

{Her team. They did a great job!}

{We are so proud of Cam and the hard work she is putting in to this! Although I think Caleb and I both feel grossly out of place watching a sport that doesn’t use some sort of ball…}

Freshman Football

Jacob finished up his freshman football season. I have no idea what the team’s record was, but Jacob did an amazing job with 6 picks on the season! He was a force on defense!
{Jacob and buddy Braden. Friends since kindergarten!}

{First game. First pick. Jacob’s team finished ahead of the A team, and he was thrown in off the sidelines for one play. And, clearly, one interception!}
{One of the others. So many to keep track of…}

Jacob made a deal with one of his coaches that if he had the most picks in the season the coach would give Jacob his floppy hat. We now own a Plainfield North floppy hat.
Great season, kid!

October Bits

 In zero order.

{I never know what kind of pictures I will receive when these two nut cases hang out…}

{Mason had to visit the pediatrician to have a mysterious boob lump checked out. He was thrilled to learn it was the beginning signs of puberty. He has been counting dark leg hairs ever since.}

{Our Halloween. It rained. It snowed. It was super dark and very bright all at the same time. Camryn was representing a Taylor Swift era, Mason was many things before he decided it was more fun to just scare unsuspecting trick-or-treaters, and Jacob was wearing a ghillie suit in a neighborhood far away with friends. The only picture I nabbed of the kids was this picture of Camryn that I screenshotted off the school social media page. That weather, tho.}

{We made ground beef Rice Krispies treats to celebrate Halloween. Gross!}

{When these two aren’t trying to kill each other, they are best buds in imagination land. Camryn was the hairdresser and Mason was the willing customer.}

{A Halloween costume that ultimately found its way back to Amazon.}

{I took the kids to another haunted house this year. Way more fun than a pumpkin patch!}

{This hand has a history. My dad put it in my lunchbox when I was in third grade as a joke, and it scared me big time! I still have the hand, and we all took turns moving it around the house this month. So funny (and startling) to see where it ended up next!}

{Apparently Camryn isn’t the only one who takes these weird pictures on my phone.}
