Christmas Time at MSI

The Museum of Science and Industry does a fantastic job of decorating for Christmas around the world, and, happily, memories from years’ past popped up in my mom’s phone prompting us to schedule a day in the city.

With limited availability, this turned into a girls’ day out as the boys were in Iowa looking for deer. I don’t think Camryn was complaining about being the only kiddo in tow as she was able to see all of her favorite things in the exact order of her choosing.

So glad that we got to burn a day at our favorite museum. Even more glad we got there before the vaccine mandate went into effect. Next stop: Covid shots for the kiddos so we can get back to enjoying our favorite things!

November Bits

 The pieces of our November puzzle.

{Jacob is playing rec league basketball, and has Caleb for a coach.}

{Camryn and I watched DWTS, and she promptly ripped up her score card when Jojo and Jenna lost. Can’t blame her!}

{We currently don’t have a kitchen. So you eat where you can find a seat…}

{Molly isn’t quite the lap dog she once was!}

Football Champs!

State Champs one weekend and Regional Champs the next! Way to go Saints! This team had a great season. Jacob made some amazing tackles at corner, had some picks, and got his hands on the ball on offense in what was known as the "Iowa" play. Could not be more proud of how far he has come in this sport!

{After winning Regional Championship.}

{State Champions! This game was almost laughable as we were slaughtering our opponent (a team from Indiana), and had to play by a laundry list of ridiculous rules (One such rule: we could only run the ball straight up the middle. No joke.).}

October Bits

The pieces of our October puzzle.

{Looking stellar in our school-issued pictures.}

{Trick-or-treating with friends and giving up in record time because you have enough candy. Wait. What?}
{Caleb and I went to a Halloween party. We were homeless and unemployed. IYKYK. Those McDonald's cups, though.}

Iowa Weekender

We headed out to Iowa with the purpose of taking family pictures, but we threw in a Hawkeye tailgate to kick off the weekend!
{We spent Friday night with cousins. These cousins took a while to warm up to one another. More Molly than Bo.}
{Molly came along to the tailgate because we were heading to Keo from there. She slept most of the time, as she does most of the time.}

{Spending time with cousins is the best. Pork on a stick makes it even better.}

{Boys playing bags with a side of dance club hip thrusting.}

{Grandma and Papa came up for the fun!}

{We headed over to Kinnick to cheer on the team as the entered the stadium. Camryn's exact words: Wait. Do the Hawkeyes have a game today?! Oh, Cam...}

{Then off to Keo for those long-awaited family pictures. Twinning!}

Pumpkin Patch

Twelve years and counting! This year we got to share our tradition with Grandma and Papa. In and out just before the rain rolled in!

{The traditional picture. Almost everyone is tall enough to put their heads through the holes!}
{This train went around three extra times because no one else was waiting in line. More fun for some than others!}
{We made it to the pumpkins. And were so close to snapping this photo and hopping back on the hay rack ride before it left. A lesson learned: Smile faster to avoid a 20-minute wait for the next ride back!}

{I will never understand the draw to squish around in the corn silo. They love it, though. And everyone made it out without any dust-induced bloody noses this year. Bonus!}

{These two found the selfie taker. Oh boy!}
