Bits

The pieces that filled up our February.
{Testing out You Tube experiments. According to the video, you were to write on a plate with dry erase marker, add water, and watch your drawing completely detach from the plate and become a floating picture. What we got was a plate that permanently has a stick figure greeting us before we slop food on it. Proof that you cannot always believe what you see on the internet!}
{Daddy Daughter Dance. Camryn was so excited to go, but--according to all accounts--turned into a clingy and emotional monster upon reaching the ball. She called off the date halfway through the night, and vowed to be done with dances for life. Poor girl was getting sick, but didn't know it yet. She would wake up with a fever the next day and would spend the better part of February with a fever and a headache. Poor thing!}
{Mother Son dinner date. Because when half of your family is having fun at a dance, it's only fair that you get to have your own kind of fun. So we did. At Red Robin. With a handful of other mother/son combos who had the same idea! Mason ate two meals. No joke. He ate a meal, and then he ordered and ate another meal. And that was in addition to the ice cream sundae that both boys insisted upon having. My stomach was full just watching the fourth grader shovel all that food into his mouth!}
{Camryn was star student. And she asked her biggest brother to be the mystery reader who would come read a book to her class. So sweet. Jacob practiced the book several times the night before his performance, and even asked Camryn to make a last-minute book switch so that he would be sure to not mess up! After reading the book, he fielded questions from the first-grade audience such as "what's your favorite color?" and "are you really in fifth grade?" I think he enjoyed being mystery reader almost as much as Camryn enjoyed having him!}
{This girl added "legit bloody nose" to her list of talents. She and Mason finally have something in common...}
{Mason insisted on making Valentines for everyone in his class. And because a box of traditional cards with tattoo swag wasn't going to cut it, he came up with some trendy ideas. Scrunchies for the ladies and completely meaningless Tik Tok cards for the gents. I love his creativity almost as much as he loves relying on me to make all of his ideas come to life about one minute before he needs them...}
{I have been fortunate to spend a ton of time subbing at the kids' school. I was able to meet up with this cute little Eskimo at recess the other day!}
{Proof that we did get some snow this winter!}
{Check out our backyard visitor!}
{Jacob hit the wall after going nonstop during last weekend's warm day. He was supposed to be watching Hawkeye wrestling with his dad, but snuggled in for a quick nap before bedtime instead. Sweet boy!}
{Eleven year checkup. Complete with three shots and a finger poke. Jacob is 75 pounds and 56 inches, which lands him in the 31 and 38 percentile respectively. Happy to keep him little as long as I can!}

February is a wrap!
