Back On

Hooray! My wedding rings fit again. For a few weeks, my hands had swollen and my sparkley bands became a semi-permanent fixture on our nightstand. But I coaxed them back on the other day and am not taking them off. And just in time. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow that Caleb cannot attend so my mom is my escort. Last time Mom took me to the doctor, I had to leave my rings at home and I told her that attending an OB appointment with my mother and without wedding rings made me feel like a single, pregnant, teenage mom-to-be. Sure won't be feeling that way tomorrow!

Okay - you are the 2nd young pregnant women to tell me she feels self-concious (sp?) about not being able to wear wedding rings. Hate to break it to you but most people just aren't that observant. I have known many women who could not wear their wedding rings while pregnant. It turned out to be a good thing that my rings were sitting on my night stand when I had to spend two weeks in the hospital, before & after Mer was born......

I felt like that too! I couldn't wear my ring until Bryce was about 2 months old. It was a horrible feeling. I had to go to Claire's and buy a fake diamond just so I didn't feel like a single mother!

I mentioned that maybe Caleb would want to go to the store and pick me up a stand-in diamond for the time being. But I don't think he was too quick to jump on the idea!

The $6.00 Claire's diamond is well worth not feeling like a single mom. Although he might feel weird shopping at Claire's by himself!

I also wore a $6 Claire's diamond for quite some time.

Would you rather people think you're a knocked up teenager or your mother's lesbian partner? Honest mistake, either way :-)

I beg your pardon Emily! I would never have such a young partner! :)

And you may want to lose the ring before your trip to the hospital...It's one of those valuable items, better to leave at home. And most days I walk around town with the three kids in tow wondering if people think Mitch and I are on the "outs" because I've forgotten to put my ring on. The prongs have cut all three kids when I change diapers, maybe a wedding band is in order for this lady?!.
